Def want to check this out. The Roots are a big part of the reason. Also I want to check out newcomers SonnyMoon and Gary Clark Jr. . Never did Reggae Day before, but singing “It Wasn’t Me”out loud and slow winin’ to Collie Buddz doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Plus the food they serve is a perk too!

It’s a trip seeing these historical pics. Some of the most well known intersections/areas in l.a. were on fire, in total chaos, and filled with people in full rage and fear.
NEWS, ARCHIVE: 20th Anniversary of L.A. Riots - Now and Then by Ted Soqui
It’s been 20 years since LAPD officers were acquitted of beating Rodney King —- and the subsequent rioting that paralyzed the city.
Much has changed in the urban landscape of Los Angeles: Where there was once a building in flames, there is now a shopping mall. Where there were blocks of rubble, there is now a school.
Award-winning photographer Ted Soqui has revisited the spaces he photographed almost 20 years ago, documenting how Los Angeles has moved beyond the riots of 1992.

Twenty years ago, photographer Ted Soqui faced down guns and fire to capture the violence engulfing Los Angeles. Now he’s going back and shooting the same spots.
